PLAYING SPORT
Growing up in country
play a lot of sport
fun thing to do with mates
use bat, or ball is caught
we were always swimming
in the creek at first
then moved to Olympic pool
chlorine in eyes was worst
play short-stop at softball
in hockey centre-half-back
have casual hit of tennis
Dad teaches golfing knack
thankful for opportunity
built strong lungs and bones
helps with co-ordination
and team skill hones
