Birthday Poems, Poetry for Birthdays

Happy Birthday Mother

Happy birthday, Mother,
Even though you might prefer
Life without these markers,
Each too public to defer.
Now that you are fifty,
Sing to us your own sweet song,
That we might celebrate your life,
Rejoicing all night long.
Each of us has love to bring,
Each a special song to sing,
To lose your heart among.

Happy Sweet Sixteen

Sweet sixteen! Sweet sixteen!
We can’t believe it’s true;
The person sitting before us
Is really, really you.

You’ve grown from the colicky baby
With wailing through the night.
We have a tape of screams you made
That would give a ghost a fright.

We’d tiptoe to your little crib,
And put you down to nap.
The trouble was the squeaky board
Would give a little snap.

Then up you’d pop to play again.
We would sign and try anew
To get our little child to nap
So we’d see the whole day through.

As birthday celebrations changed
The years have brought great fun.
From cupcakes at the skating rink,
To clowns, balloons and sun.

You’ve done swimming at the Y,
And movies at the mall.
We’ve pinned a long and bushy tail
On a donkey in the hall.

You’ll always be our sweetie –
Our baby in disguise;
And you should know you’re very loved
In both your parents eyes.

May the days that lie ahead
Bring happiness untold;
Choices that are good and wise
For your life as it unfolds.

Sweet sixteen! Sweet sixteen!
Colored candles on a cake!
We send you a Happy Birthday
With a wish for you to make!

I want to say I love you on your birthday

I want to say I love you on your birthday,
Though love is something you don’t want from me.
Things didn’t go so well when I last said it,
And so I’ll keep it silent in my heart.

But how the words reverberate within me!
A song that I must struggle not to sing,
A music I must dance to without motion,
A poem that I must never read aloud.

Your wishes are a wall I would not scale,
Yet won’t abandon, loathe to leave behind.
I cannot have, and cannot bear to lose you,
And so I send you this in my despair.

I wish you a happy day

I wish for you, a happy day
For lots of love, to come your way
May your heart be filled with cheer
That will last, thorugh the coming year

Best wishes from my heart, sent your way
Hoping that much joy, be yours today
This special prayer for you, I will say
“God bless you on your very special day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Make a wish on birthday

Make a wish and give it wings
Dreams of bright and beautiful things

Dance through all the fun filled hours
Don’t forget to smell the flowers

Share some love and birthday cake
All life joys are yours to take

And when evening comes to view
Thanks your lucky stars you’re you

Happy Birthday

My Dear Mom![Birthday poem]

Mom, I loved you yesterday,
I love you tomorrow and everyday.
You were there for me my first day of school, t
o hold my hand and give me courage to go.
You listened to me when I needed to talk,
you talked to me when I needed to listen.
You let me grow and learn from my own mistakes.
You never left my side when I was feeling down,
I knew you would be there to pick me up.
I wish there was a way
I could repay all the things you have done for me,
but there’s nothing great enough to repay the greatest mother of all..

My Sister

On this the day of your birth,
I wrote you a poem, one that is worth
the world and then some,
because it comes from
the greatest brother alive,
one that would dive
in front of a bullet to save his sister
one that would make today a disaster
by not getting her a present
because I couldn’t afford a pheasant
or was it a quail I was looking for
the one Mr. Cheney eventually wore
on his back, like a cape
to show quails there was no excape
but, on a lighter note, I know why I’m here
it’s time to celebrate that special time of year
when you were born and later found
taken home, and fond of sound
you later made in your room
the noise you hear from a flute out of tune
but, now you’re here with friends a plenty
to celebrate this, your birthday of twenty.

Special Day

Roses and blossoms bloomed today
Spreading the fragrance all the way
The bees and moths sing today
For it’s the special day

Colours of the rainbow shine so bright
Up in the blue sky twinkle light
Removing the borders and taking my wishes
With all my love and humble kisses

Angels from heaven are here
To wish you the wishes of today
I wish if I were there
To wish you a happy b’day

The Birthday Child

Everything’s been different
All the day long,
Lovely things have happened,
Nothing has gone wrong.

Nobody has scolded me,
Everyone has smiled.
Isn’t it delicious
To be a birthday child?

To You dear Mother, On Your Birthday

May your very special day
Overflow with love and peace,
Thank God for his grace and mercy
His wonders to me never cease.
Each life you’ve been blessed to touch
Reminds us to persevere,
Your commitment and obedience to God
Opens hearts and minds, it’s clear.
Unwavering strength you possess
A devoted servant in all that you do,
Reverence the One from whom you’re made
Ever faithful, ever loving, ever true.
Let’s celebrate and enjoy this moment
Or reminisce about years ago,
Vow we have to cherish you
Even more than you’ll ever know.
Dear Mother, Happy Birthday!
