GoodBye Poems, Poetry about Saying GoodBye

Sunset Luster

The Sun bows down letting its glimmer
shed on the sea.
An Abundant view for others
Yet so significant for me to see.

The Sun’s final radiance bids farewell
to my spent eyes.
As I reminice…cherish…
Moments of your presence.
From the smiles we’ve shared,
To the tears we shed,
By this moment of your absence,
That is all I need to keep myself warm.

Thirty minutes had passed.
Forebearance consumed by dimness,
Slowly filching my existence.
Though I cannot witness tomorrows
Graceful dawn.
Sunset luster shall be forver in my soul.

Tears

I sat at my computer; brushing back the tears
Remembering times long ago
Close to fifty years
You were always there; sitting by my side
Listening to my endeavors
Things I tried to hide

I’m going to miss you; my dearest friend
The one who simply listened
Love you to the end
Your sickness has taken over; life seems so unfair
The time is growing shorter
With the graying of your hair

Wrinkles in your weary skin; the humor in your smile
Will always be remembered
I’ll sit by you awhile
You can call me by my name; or any name you choose
I’m scared to death of what’s to come
The friendship I will lose

We will sit and reminisce; look back over the years
It’s funny how our paths have crossed
I have to face my fears
God will come and take you soon; leaving me to cry
To face the world without you in it
Don’t even want to try

You’re the uncle, my best friend; the one who knows me best
It’s our closeness I will miss
When you’re laid to rest
You tell me not to worry; don’t be full of sorrow
Time on earth is almost over
There’ll always be a tomorrow

Disease has taken over your mind; your body needs a rest
Who am I to question God
He who knows you best
Thirty years older than I; a full life you have led
I’ll push back all my tears
And listen to what you said

I know I will miss you- my dear special friend
I will sit here by your side
And love you to the end

The End

I guess this is the end,
I pray to God that there is more.
This story barely started,
and now tears trickle to the floor.

You told me not to cry for you,
but darling, it’s who I am.
So please, forgive me in that respect,
I’m doing the best I can.

Why does this have to be it?
I thought this was a poem I’d never write…
If I could hug you, babe, I would..
You’ll never be out of mind, just out of sight.

I pray for you soft journeys,
that you always get what you need.
I pray that you remember your God
and that His word you heed.

Monique, I’m sorry that this is goodbye.
Just know that you can always come home to me.
Darling, I miss you too much already.
I wish that you could see…

To Goodbye

Don’t really want to say goodbye
I don’t really want to leave you
But now I have to go away
Stay away from you forever

What we had was something special
Deep down from our hearts
But now I have to go away
And leave you from my heart.

We will meet again

You and I will meet again
When we’re least expecting it
One day in some far off place
I will recognize your face
I won’t say goodbye my friend
For you and I will meet again

Will never forget you

I will never forget you

I will never forget you
You were always there for me
I wont forget our love too
Everyone said it was plain to see.
How much we loved each other
how much we cared
You were like my brother
everyone couldnt help but stare.
But your gone forever
i cant replace that now
i wont forget you, never
But why did you leave, how.
I guess i have to go on
just live my life without you
even though i morn until dawn
i will never forget you.
