But now I have to go away

What we had was something special
Deep down from our hearts
But now I have to go away
And leave you from my heart.

Standing in solitude…
Under the down-trodden pall,
Watching my life, my own life go by…
Thinking of those days old and gray
…a tear rolls down my eye,
And like a mirage you fade away…

I never knew love’s agony or painful tears,
never felt this sting all these 23 years…

I dreamed of you holding me, wanting me, loving me,
caring for me, liking me…
