The Touch

The labor-pains were worth it
The ebb and flow of feelings
I waited and waited bit by bit
My eyes hooked up to the pink ceilings

The prick of anesthesia, drugged me to sleep
The clank of scissors, tongs, fading voices
Misty mellowness, buoyant birches, valleys deep
Heard a faint cry, dewdrops falls in rejoices

The anxiousness of holding HER in flesh and blood
The wait torturous, time stood still
Being aches, gushes forth the emotions flood
The quietness made the warm blood chill

At last! The lady in white
Brought my BEING wrapped in sheet
A bundle of bones, fragile as kite
Handed HER into my aching arms and wild heartbeat

My angel, my daughter has come into the world
My boys could not make me complete
This thin shriveled fish-bone has made me twirl
Completing my incompleteness, NONE can delete

My love, my darling daughter
Your first touch has filled my barren bough
My faith, sunshine, rainbow, Lord’s daughter
Ours is a unique union, Let all know

Let all know…..
